Ken, a native of Jacksonville, Florida, has served as the Executive Director of APEL Health Services Center, Inc. since 1999. In this capacity, he oversees day-to-day operations, program development, staff management, and fiscal grant administration, ensuring that all agency initiatives remain effective, sustainable, and impactful. Ken collaborates closely with community partners and grassroots organizations to expand services and strengthen APEL’s capacity to meet the needs of underserved populations.

In addition to directing adult programs, Ken founded Project Youthlink, a youth-centered social networking initiative designed to reach at-risk teens with pregnancy prevention messaging and community outreach opportunities. The program received widespread recognition and was funded in part by The Jaguars Foundation and later by The Deloris Barr Weaver Fund.

Ken’s commitment to civic engagement extends across multiple community boards and service-oriented initiatives. Beyond his nonprofit work, he serves as the President and CEO of The SCI Group, a financial management and credit literacy firm dedicated to equipping individuals with the tools and knowledge necessary to improve their financial well-being.

His tireless efforts to uplift underserved communities have earned him numerous awards and citations, including the NAACP Elizabeth Means Health Award and the Delta Sigma Theta Community Service Award. Ken credits much of his professional success to his pastor and mentor, the late Bishop Tom E. Diamond, who served as the inspiration and visionary for establishing APEL Health Services Center, Inc. more than 26 years ago.

Ken is the proud father of three and the grandfather of five.
